This Hi-Z RX array began as a 4 element system that was upgraded to 8 elements. It enables me to hear signals not detected by my Inverted Vee. The farmer who owns the field kindly permits me to install the array after the harvest is finished, and I remove it in April before the ground thaws.
I LOVE this TH-11 antenna and TX-455 tower - no more climbing!
A man and his tower which, in this case, is the U.S. Tower TX 455. Note the mast pipe that extends to ~80 feet to support my 160 meter Inverted Vee. A bearing race permits the mast to rotate without twisting the wire antenna. The ends of the Vee are about 35 feet off the ground. This antenna has worked 100+ countries on 160 meters.
Here is my ZeroFive 57' free-standing vertical. This antenna gets used for 80 and 40 meters. It has 32 radials and needs more, but does well on 80 meters and VERY well on 40. Materials are high quality and it has survived several Wisconsin winters without complaint.
This image helps you understand how robust this antenna is. The build quality of the base is simply excellent.
